Meta’s research on recent interactions in interest prediction includes one summary that depends on information outside the sequence of actions and another designed to reduce reliance on that information3. For notification delivery rather than interest prediction, Meta’s notification patents describe recent interactions as a check performed after potential notification recipients have been put in priority order using information about them and the content item12. In these Meta patents, the check confirms or removes each potential recipient based on their recent interactions with information about whoever or whatever is associated with the content12. The Meta patents then describe notifying confirmed recipients in groups, with the delivery process determined at least partly by their priority order12.
