Saved posts
Saved posts are posts you bookmark on Instagram to revisit later and organize into collections.12 In July 2026, Adam Mosseri recommended collaborative collections as a way to share your saves with a friend.3 Meta’s patent describes a way to recommend content based on what people save and later view.4
Saving and organizing posts
To save an Instagram post, tap the bookmark icon underneath it.2 Press and hold that icon to create and name a collection or select an existing one; Instagram’s announcement and Mosseri’s walkthrough describe these personal collections as visible only to you.15 You can also organize previously saved posts by tapping the plus icon in the collections area, naming a collection and selecting the posts to include.1 In his January 2021 walkthrough, Mosseri showed how to find saved posts and collections by opening your profile, using the menu at the top right and selecting “Save.”5 For products, Instagram’s November 2018 announcement explained that you could tap a product tag in Stories or Feed, then tap the Save icon in the bottom-right corner to keep the item in your Shopping collection.6
